Like any investment, a piano needs routine care to ensure that it is getting the job done at peak performance, all the time. Many manufacturers state that your piano should be tuned at least twice a year after it has "broken in" or had its initial settling. However, there are many factors that affect this:
- Is the piano being moved frequently?
- Is the piano experiencing changes in climate from nearby doors, windows, heaters or air conditioners?
- Who is playing the piano? A beginner or a professional? Is it soft or heavy playing?
- How frequently is the piano being played?
Any time the piano is not producing sound that you want to hear is reason enough to call and have it tuned.
